Immerse in the process and practice of SoulCollage®
Card making is the craft, and card reading the art during this daylong gathering in Suzanne’s cozy Chevy Chase studio. Share your Sunday with other local SoulCollagers while increasing your deck, reading your cards, and simply spending time slowing down and being with your own process.
The SoulCollage® process began in the late 1980’s, as part of a culminating project by Seena Frost (1932-2016). What began as a stack of index cards with an archetype and a Haiku soon became a growing and evolving collection of collaged cards that encompassed her family, friends, special places, beloved teachers, and honored pets.
From the SoulCollage® website:
“SoulCollage® is a creative and satisfying collage process. You make your own deck of cards – each collage card representing one aspect of your personality or Soul. Use the collage cards intuitively to answer life’s questions and participate in self-discovery. Joyfully deepen your understanding of the relationships between your personality parts, you and your family/community/world, and you and your dreams, symbols, and Spirit. The book, SoulCollage® Evolving (by Seena Frost), tells how to make and use the SoulCollage® cards individually and in groups.”

I have turned to collage countless times over the years. When I want to find new insight into my life, when I need to make an important decision, when I am in the midst of great change or transition, I pull out my old magazines, scissors and glue sticks and let my inner knower take the driver’s seat.
Several years ago, when I began to share collage as a process in my studio, some of my students asked me if what I was offering was SoulCollage®. I had no idea what that was, but just hearing the term resonated with me very deeply. In 2014, I travelled to Charlotte, NC to take facilitator’s training with Catherine Anderson. Catherine became a SoulCollage® Facilitator Trainer under the tutelage of Seena Frost, the creator of the SoulCollage® technique. Later that same year, I had the good fortunate to travel to California to study SoulCollage® further with Seena Frost and Mariabruna Sirabella. In 2019 I took additional facilitator training with Catherine Anderson.
I felt at home the moment I began to create my first
SoulCollage® card. This method combines many of the paradigms that I have studied separately, and is uniquely personal to the creator. I bow to Seena Frost and Catherine Anderson, and I gratefully acknowledge the artists, photographers, and their subjects that find their way into the collages of mine and the participants in my workshops.
